What on earth is the cinema industry playing at?
It's rare to see a director at work who clearly understands his subject matter in such a profound way. Having spent over twenty years in competitive motorsport, I usually cringe at the Top Gun / Days of Thunder attempts to encapsulate the essence of those who live on the edge. This gem of a film is one of only two films (the other being The Right Stuff) I've seen that captures the spirit of those individuals who push the envelope.
Buy it and enjoy and then seriously question why this film hasn't received wider acclaim.
