Bridget Ikin has made a habit of championing Antipodean women writers and directors with singular, original visions and has produced some of the most distinctive films of the 1980s and 90s (Kitchen Sink, Angel at My Table). Since leaving NZ, she has been influential in Australian TV commissioning and film production.
My strongest memory of Bridget is her always being there at the rushes, and being so encouraging about how she felt it was turning out. That was very important to me.
