Actor/musician Madeleine Sami won international acclaim starring in two Toa Fraser plays: 1998's Bare and solo show No 2. Aged 18, she debuted on screen on Shortland Street and Pio. Following Insiders Guide to Happiness, she was the romantic interest in Sione's Wedding. Sami went on to win an Aotearoa acting award for Super City, in which she plays five characters, from an Auckland gym instructor to an Iranian immigrant.
I had lines like ‘They've got catapults!’ or ‘There's a shark!' or ‘We're all gonna die!' I'm barely in it. But I don't die. I'm one of the only Amazonians that doesn't die.
– Madeleine Sami on acting in Xena: Warrior Princess
