Mary Lambie

Presenter

Best known for her seven year run as presenter of TVNZ's Good Morning, Mary Lambie began in broadcasting long before morning TV. In 1991 the radio journalist and DJ did three years as RNZ's Tokyo correspondent. Six years later she took over as the likably upbeat presenter of the five day a week Good Morning, staying until the show relocated to Wellington in 2004. These days Lambie manages a successful Auckland food franchise.

The funny thing is that a lot of the kids I employ have never even heard of Good Morning. It's a complete mystery to them when people say, "Didn't you used to be on television?" Yes, I'll use my profile to help build the business — who wouldn't? — but this is who I am now. Not TV Mary but franchisee Mary. Mary Lambie, in a 2012 interview for website Franchise New Zealand
