Director and producer Oxley Hughan began directing for the Government's National Film Unit during World War II. In the 60s he moved into producing, working on another 120 plus films before his retirement in 1967.
After 26 years with the National Film Unit I think my greatest pleasure has been the making of farming films, and working with the farming people.
– Oxley Hughan, on his retirement in 1967
