Whanganui-born Robert Tripe graduated from Toi Whakaari in 1999, and later spent time as vice president of union MEAA (Media Entertainment and Arts Alliance). Among his many plays, he was nominated for Chapman Tripp awards for Death of a Salesman and The Cherry Orchard. He also acted on TV (Power Rangers; he was a lawyer on Shortland Street) and films (3 Mile Limit). Robert Tripe passed away on 2 November 2014.
