As much as I learn from and enjoy the many wonderful interviews on NZ On Screen, I am acutely aware that I am unable to share them with Deaf and hearing impaired friends and colleagues - is there any intention to make these invaluable insights to our media and social history more accessible?
Through my own experience living abroad in a non-English speaking environment, I know how captions and subtitles supplemented my understanding of the content ... I can see subtitling also supporting the growing migrant population so that they too can understand better their adopted home.
