I saw a teen short film in 1986 about 4 teens who try out for this competition to win what you most desire. The boyfirend only wanted the girlfriend to win. The girlfriend didn't really want to do it and the friend was only doing it to support them. While the fouth kid opted out to doing it. They had to undergo a series of pychological games to win. The friend ends up winning but she is turned into a mannequin in the end.
Interestingly it had a cameo at the end of Bruno Laurence as a cleaner
Any idea what this was called and is it available?

Hi Geoffrey. I am fairly confident that the film you are looking for is called Mindout, from 1984. Bruno is in the cast, and the Film Archive argues in their plot synopsis that one character gets turned "into a programmed mannequin". Made for the Education Department, this was an early drama directed by Gaylene Preston, shortly before the release of her first feature Mr Wrong. Beaver sings the title song.
