Freyberg and Highway One

Following on from that marvelous documentary Gallipoli the NZ Story in the mid 1980's, I remember Lt Gen Sir Leonard Thornton also did an excellent four part documentary on former NZ Governor General and WWII hero, Lt Gen Sir Bernard Freyberg. What is the possibility of seeing that on NZ on Screen.

 

And speaking of docos, there was also a fine one screened again in the mid 80's called Highway One, narrated and presented by the late Shona McFarlane. This screened on the art programme, Kaleidoscope and was about her making a voyage along State Highway 1 from the deep south to the far north, who along the way stopped and met some interesting people on the way. Would be a gem of a time capsule to see if it is ever found again.

Thanks Carey - these are not documentaries we have had suggested to us before, but we can certainly make enquiries as to whether they are still held by the TVNZ Archive. Do you know the exact title of the Sir Bernard Freyberg doco series by any chance?
