Cat Inna Can

Straitjacket Fits

Synopsis

One of four videos made for Shayne Carter’s Flying Nun guitar band Straitjacket Fits by Andrew Dominik (who went on to direct Chopper, and The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford). The brooding, disdainful ‘Cat Inna Can’ was the first single from the band’s third album, Blow, recorded in Los Angeles after the departure of original guitarist Andrew Brough. The see-sawing guitars are matched with circling, swooping camerawork in a video shot in a warehouse in Sydney and inside a giant cooling tower inland from there.

Signed up to say how much I loved this video. Missed out on the Fits first time around, but went to the reunion gig at Sammys in Dunedin - what a fantastic show.
