Fade Away

Che Fu

Synopsis

This soulful reggae number was the first single from Che-Fu’s second album The Navigator and it marked the debut of his new band, The Krates. The music video, which won a NZ Music Award in 2002, translates the song’s message of undying friendship to a World War Two setting (initially at Auckland’s MOTAT transport museum). Che-Fu’s former Supergroove band mate, and Krates' drummer, Paul Russell plays the cheeky English chap while another member of the platoon is P-Money who has found some turntables that possibly aren’t authentic wartime issue.
