From depression to prosperity and back again, this documentary explores the boom and bust cycles of our economy. Mr TJ Edmonds, of baking powder fame made his fortune by hawking his wares around Christchurch, initially with a horse and cart. Then as his business grew, he built factories. Factory workforces expanded, and with them unions. Worker dissatisfaction with pay and conditions led to the Queen Street riot of 1932, a defining moment in New Zealand's history.
