Synopsis

Monkeys and rhinos star alongside kiwi and tuatara in this award-winning factual series. The Zoo goes behind bars to meet Auckland Zoo's characters - both animal and human - and crafts them into a compelling docu-soap. A family-friendly hit for TV2, it has sold widely overseas. Ten series have been made to date, as well as popular one-off specials like Raising Baby Iwani and Zoo Babies. The Zoo is a big winner with viewers, who voted it Best Documentary Series in the 2007 TV Guide Awards, for the seventh year running.
