Interview – 2018

David Beatson's career spanned reporting for 1960s magazine show Town and Aroundediting The Listener, and being chairman of NZ On Air. In this ScreenTalk, Beatson talked about struggling to pass the announcer's test so he could get into broadcasting, outdoor adventures on Town and Around, doing heavy-duty research for his Compass interviews, meeting Prime Minister Robert Muldoon, juggling guests for news show Eyewitness, his advice to board members of NZ On Air after becoming chairman, and what makes a great interviewer.

David Beatson passed away on 21 September 2017.
