ScreenTalk Short: Rachel House

Interview – 2019

Rachel House has proven herself in both drama (Whale Rider) and comedy (Hunt for the Wilderpeople). In this ScreenTalk Short, she talks about how her role in 1998 TV movie Tiger Country reflected a time when Māori women were often cast as victims, the trial by fire of Queenie and Pete, and working with talented directors Niki Caro (on Whale Rider) and Gaylene Preston (on Hope and Wire). She also mentions the "profound heart" of hit movie Boy, and being a panelist on advice show Ask Your Auntie.
