Philip Hurring

Editor

Veteran editor and post-production specialist Philip Hurring has cut many documentaries and reality shows — plus current affairs, music videos and adverts. His work includes Royal NZ Ballet series The Secret Life of Dancers, much travelled feature Tu Tangata: Weaving for the People, and three shows hosted by David Lomas: Missing PiecesLost & Found, and Family Secret. He has also been lead editor on the high rating Coast Australia, and done time in British TV. Hurring's background as a musician feeds into his work melding sound and image. His long editing career has run in tandem with his work as a health and fitness practitioner.

I only ever owned a television for three months back in 1996 — I prefer to observe the real world for inspiration, rather than other people’s productions. Philip Hurring
