Great New Zealand River Journeys

Television, 1992

Three-part series Great New Zealand River Journeys explored iconic New Zealand rivers, and introduced many local identities along the way. The Clutha River episode was hosted by McPhail and Gadsby comedian Jon Gadsby; poet Sam Hunt travelled the Whanganui River, while musician Lynda Topp took on the Waikato. The transport included jet boats, rafts, canoes, helicopters and camper vans. Gadsby even tried a bungy jump. The three-part series was produced by veteran documentary maker George Andrews.
