My Mummy & Daddy are in this film, part of the locals LOL. They shared the story with us. Luckily they had it @ our local United Video store for rental back in the days. And Maori tele viewed it a few years back. Classic!

I remember as a little girl living in aitutaki and travelling to a deserted island with my Grandmother who is now passed and I remember it was sooo hot and the water and island was so beautiful and I was there on that same island this film was situated and it seemed like "forever" but I was so dying for water hahaha it was horrible experience that is all I remember about being part of this behind the scene film .Wud love to know where this film is though to show my kids their great grandmother who is a " extra faces " around the background throughout the movie aaaww God bless her soul.

I was born in the 80's and watched this movie at around age 5. I can still remember the clips like I just saw it yesterday. A very memorable story indeed.

Jayleen 21 Jan 2014 - 04.16pm

I saw this movie way back in 1985 in India. I have been trying to buy the DVD ever since, without success. I live in New York and unfortunately there seems to be no availability in the US. I came across this website selling only PAL copies (not NTSC or universal). FYI - if anyone's interested:
