Philip Sherry

Philip Sherry remains one of NZ’s longest serving newsreaders - including flagship bulletins for the NZBC, TV One, South Pacific Television, TV3 and Radio NZ. Sherry began television newsreading in 1963. Following work in Canada and London he returned home, co-anchoring innovative twin city bulletin News at 10 with Tom Bradley. After a stint reading the news for the 1989 launch of TV3, Sherry moved into local body politics.

(Newsreading is) like riding a bicycle. All you need is sobriety and good eyes.
