Ryan O'Kane won a Qantas TV Award for a role which began while he was still halfway through drama school: 2005 TV series The Insiders Guide to Love, in which he played a well-meaning ex-crim whose best friend is his dog. O'Kane went on to play the fiance in big-screen hit Second Hand Wedding; in 2011 he starred in TV movie recreations of the Tangiwai disaster and the 1981 tour (Rage), and doing time on Australia's City Homicide.
