Author and playwright Tom Scott wanted to be a vet, but ended up helping Murray Ball write the script for animated farm epic Footrot Flats. Alongside a celebrated career as cartoonist, Scott has written for a range of screen projects, from comedy (co-scripting TV's Spin Doctors and Seven Periods with Mr Gormsby) to drama (creating police tele-movie Tiger Country) to directing docos on Ed Hillary. His big screen debut is 2009 relationship drama Separation City.
It has taken me twenty years to evolve into the writer I needed to be for this project [...] I had to do something at this age, it might as well be a feature film. It was either that, or lawn bowls.
