Artist Overview

Neil Finn formed Crowded House in 1985 after the demise of Split Enz, with Melbourne musicians Paul Hester and bassist Nick Seymour. They named the band after their cramped living conditions while recording their eponymous debut in LA. In 1987 Finn-penned melody ‘Don’t Dream It’s Over’ (typically wistful and poignant) reached #2 in the US. ‘Fall At Your Feet’ and ‘Weather With You’ from 1991’s Woodface, saw Britain become their largest market. In 1996 a weary Finn broke up Crowded House to go solo, only to revive it in 2008 following the death of Hester in 2005.
