Series Synopsis

Mai Time is a magazine programme for youth, with presenters speaking in Māori and English, with a broad emphasis on popular culture and Māori culture. It ran for 21 years from 1986 in a Saturday timeslot on TV2. Mai Time launched the television careers of Stacey Morrison (nee Daniels), Quinton Hita, Teremoana Rapley and others. It was the brainchild of Executive Producer Tainui Stephens, and was produced for many years by Greg Mayor. Mayor was succeeded in 2004 by producer Anahera Higgins.
