Artist Overview

The Brunettes - Jonathan Bree and Heather Mansfield - became the poster boy and girl for Kiwi bubblegum pop with the release of their debut album Holding Hands, Feeding Ducks in 2002, replete with finely manicured indie kitsch. Signed to the label Lil' Chief Records at home, growing international interest has also seen the band sign with the American label, Sub Pop (along with Kiwi stablemates Flight of the Conchords). The Brunettes have put out three records, with a rumoured fourth on the way, and continue to tour extensively.
