 Series Synopsis

This was nightly current affairs in the loosest sense, covering a variety of material from slapstick to stunts to the occasional studio debate. A regional series that ran for five years from 1965, it was a training ground for a generation of industry professionals. The volume and breadth of material produced became the foundation for many years of television to come. Town and Around was made prior to a national network link, and came out of Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin.
