Auckland-raised Meredith Braun began appearing on stage and screen at the age of seven. She went on to act in 1989 TV series The Champion, written by Maurice Gee, and Margaret Mahy telemovie The Haunting of Barney Palmer. At 16, Braun won the first of many musical roles in London's West End. After Les Miserables and Sunset Boulevard, she co-starred as Christine in The Phantom of the Opera, and in record-breaking musical The Secret Garden. Her CV also includes further screen roles (movie The Muppet Christmas Carol), and two albums. Braun now lectures in musical theatre at the University of Chicester, south of London.
