Jane Campion

Jane Campion's list of achievements just got longer: she won two BAFTAs for The Power of the Dog. The Western is also nominated for 12 Academy Awards. Campion was the first woman to win the grand prize at the Cannes Film Festival in two different categories — for short film (Peel in 1986) and feature (The Piano in 1993). Thanks to The Piano, she also became the second woman nominated for Best Director at the Oscars. Check out some of Campion's early short films, one of the only behind the scenes reports on The Piano, and an interview done before the release of An Angel at My Table. She can also be seen acting in The Audition, a film made by her sister Anna.
