Len Lye - Motion Maestro

This Spotlight collection celebrates the work of legendary New Zealand kinetic artist Len Lye. For some Lye sound and motion magic and priceless footage of the artist getting in the mood for making, watch the opening 20 minutes of Lye documentary Flip & Two Twisters. Bounce along to his jazzy classic Swinging the Lambeth Walk, then head to New Plymouth with the Big Art Trip to check out a prototype for Lye’s Wind Wand (start of clip two). The Len Lye Centre opened in 2015 at the Govett-Brewster Art Gallery in New Plymouth.
