Chatterbox

Television, 1993–1995

Chatterbox was one of many children's shows produced in TVNZ's Christchurch's studios during the 1980s and 1990s, such as After School and The Son of A Gunn Show but this time for pre-schoolers. Presenters Piripi Moore and Annie Roach were joined by a number of puppets, including the iconic Thingee. The Chatterbox set hosted a small library of children's books, and the show emphasised storytelling. It ran for two seasons from 1994. a few years later, executive producer Janie Morrell-Gunn formed company Whitebait Media with Jason Gunn, and took beloved Saturday morning show What Now? back to Christchurch.
