Don't Tell Me

Television, 1989

This short-lived 1980s showbiz quiz show used a panel show format, pitting two teams of music and media personalities against each other to answer quickfire question rounds about film, TV and music trivia. Teams were led by character comedy legend Ginette McDonald (Lynn of Tawa) and loquacious presenter Jim Hopkins, and the contestants included Ilona Rodgers (Gloss) and When The Cat's Away muso Dianne Swann. Mustachioed sports journalist and broadcaster Phil Gifford (from quirky 1980s series That's Fairy Interesting) played quizmaster. Musical director Rod Dunbar was on hand to add keyboard interludes.
