Greg Fleming

Wairarapa-born songwriter Greg Fleming moved to Auckland aged 11 and started gigging with his first band at 16, playing in suburban community halls. Fleming's love of storytelling and American acts like Lou Reed, Television and Townes Van Zandt inspire his music, which mixes alt-country, pop and blues. Greg Fleming and the Trains released their debut album Ghosts are White in 1993. After a rocky period, second album Taken followed in 2010. In 2012 Greg Fleming and The Working Poor were born, with guitarists Andrew Thorne and John Segovia, drummer Wayne Bell, bassist Mark Hughes and keyboard player Nick Duirs.
