Looking Your Best

Television, 1979

Kiwi women seeking fashion advice in the late 1970s could turn to this TV tutorial for help. Locals Bunty Finney and Helen Vause learn from Leslie Field, editor of British fashion and lifestyle mag Tatler, how to dress for your figure, what to pack while travelling, apply makeup (Field wears 15 layers of mascara), and how to sit to make your legs look slimmer. The four-part series was one of a number of "fillers" (short programmes to fill gaps in Kiwi TV schedules). American-born Field was promoting her book Look Like A Million.
