Mermaidens

Indie rock trio Mermaidens first formed through the teenage friendship of Gussie Larkin (guitar, vocals), Lily West (bass, vocals), and Abe Hollingsworth (drums). Since their debut album Undergrowth in 2016, the Wellington trio have released two more albums with Flying Nun Records before going independent for the 2023 self-titled Mermaidens. The band are known for making their own colourful music videos and cover art, as well as their creative live shows. Their accolades include nominations for the Taite Music Prize, the Aotearoa Music Awards and the prestigious Silver Scrolls.
