The Book Show

Television, 2006–2007

Hosted by author Emily Perkins, The Book Show interviews writers — mostly New Zealand ones — and discusses their work.  Each episode is divided into three parts: a revolving panel (including writers, actors and Marcus Lush) review a new book; interviewer Finlay Macdonald visits a legendary Kiwi writer; then, back in the studio, Perkins asks another writer about the books that first fired them up as children. The Book Show was the first of a number of shows about Kiwi creatives produced by ex music writer Colin Hogg. After two seasons, it was rejigged and reborn as The Good Word, still with Perkins and Macdonald on board.
