The Goober Brothers

Television, 2002–2004

The Goober Brothers injected Kiwi screens with absurdist comedy across two seasons. Playing as fake infomercials on What Now? and later repeated on Studio 2, it advertised the bizarre inventions of Gary (Luke Nola) and Glenn (Glenn Wood) Goober, which usually backfired on Glenn in spectacular fashion. The inventions included a Poo Car (a car fuelled by poo), Hedgehog Brush (a pet AND a brush) and E-Z Milk (see below). Created by Luke Nola, the Qantas-nominated show was born from an NZ On Air funding scheme for new talent. It inspired Nola's big selling hit Let's Get Inventin', which bought real kids' inventions to life
