Actor Ben Barrington has played a plethora of different roles on New Zealand television. After graduating from Toi Whakaari in 2001, Barrington won a Chapman Tripp award for his stage work, and was nominated for further gongs for acclaimed TV series Insiders Guide to Happiness, as a doctor close to breaking. In 2011, Barrington joined The Almighty Johnsons as the well-meaning but lazy god Olaf. After time as romantic interest on Aussie hit Offspring and a stint on Dancing With the Stars, Barrington joined Shortland Street for an extended run as "playful, provocative, annoying" plastic surgeon Drew McCaskill.
