Richard Long - not to be confused with the ex newspaper editor, or cinematographer - read the news on TVNZ's primetime bulletin for almost 20 years. After co-anchoring TV One's 6pm news with Philip Sherry, Long began a 16 year run co-presenting alongside Judy Bailey (apart from a brief period where he moved to weekends). Long began as a reporter, and presented live broadcasts during the 1990 Aramoana shootings.
It's the people I will miss.
– Richard Long in 2003, after finishing his final news bulletin on TVNZ.
