Synopsis

Part two of a programme about the man accused of molesting children in a Christchurch crèche in 1992. This episode looks at how Ellis's gay sexuality permeated the case, and influenced public opinion. It also focuses on the gay community's lack of support, and proposes some reasons for this. Interviewees include Lynley Hood, whose book A City Possessed injected some much-needed objectivity into the case, Jay Bennie, from the gay media, lesbian psychologist Miriam Saphira, and criminologist Greg Newbold.
