The New Adventures of Black Beauty

Television, 1990–1992

The New Adventures of Black Beauty was a continuation of the early 1970s British TV series cherished by herds of horse-loving girls. Vicky Denning (Kiwi actor Amber McWilliams) has emigrated to New Zealand with her stepmother, where she is captivated by a mystical black horse. Key original cast and the famous original title sequence are reprised only now with Beauty galloping along a west coast beach. This first season featured many Kiwi crew, including actor Illona Rodgers, director Mike Smith and producer Murrray Newey. The second season saw the beloved horse relocated to Australia, and an entirely new cast and plotline.
