Evie Mackay

Evie Mackay has supported the New Zealand screen industry as a production manager, an administrator at screen institutions, and as a producer of her own work. Mackay cut her teeth producing music videos for such major local acts as David Dallas and Aldous Harding, before establishing her own production company Paper Road Films in 2018. Short films Fetch (2021) and Hot Mother (2020), both enjoyed international festival success — Hot Mother competed at the Berlin Film Festival. McKay is also a stills photographer, and has a passion for talent development, having run numerous programmes for organisation Script to Screen.    

Evie is passionate about fostering unique and distinct voices, and creating films with themes of mental health, mortality and legacy. Paper Road Films website
