Kahurangi Milne (née Maxwell)

Producer [Ngāti Whakaue, Ngāti Rangiwewehi]

Kahurangi Milne studied communications at Waikato University before beginning her career in 2009 as a researcher on the long-running te reo Māori series Waka Huia. A former national Kapa Haka competitor with Ngāti Rangiwewehi, she later hosted Māori Television’s coverage of Te Matatini. In 2013, she and her partner Chey Milne co-founded Rotorua-based production company Arataua Media. Milne has since been a producer of series including live Māori news satire show Something For the People, primary school kapa haka series Tamariki Haka, RNZ’s te reo podcast Whakamāori, and tamariki web series Te Nūtube.

I really still enjoy the mahi that we do, and for our kaimahi and others that are brought into the Arataua whānau, to enjoy what they do as well, and to be proud to be Māori, to be proud of the mahi that we produce.
