An Adoption Story

Web series An Adoption Story was first released on YouTube in late 2022. Series one followed 12 adoptees from around the world attempting to find their birth parents, or information on their early lives before they were adopted. Series creator Alex Gilbert was himself adopted from Russia by a Kiwi couple, and after finding and meeting his birth parents in 2013, he committed himself to helping others do the same. The second season shares the stories of more Kiwi adoptees. I'm Adopted, a charity and online community set up by Gilbert, is a haven for adoptees from around the motu and beyond to connect and share their stories.
