Bungay on Crime

Television, 1992

In this series of dramatised documentaries, legendary criminal barrister and QC Mike Bungay offers a lawyer’s perspective on nine notable police investigations and criminal trials. In each episode, Bungay explores a different legal theme — including fraud, forensics, circumstantial evidence, immunity deals and the validity of confessions. Featured cases include the disappearance of American Milton Harris off the Cook Strait ferry, the 1979 murder of waitress Margaret Bell at Mainstreet cabaret, Karl Sim’s Goldie forgeries, and the William Sutch espionage trial. Mike Bungay died in August 1993.
