Chase Woods

Wirihana Nikora adopted the stage name Chase Woods, inspired by a saying shared with his brother about “chasing giants”, pursuing those you look up to. Born and raised in Palmerston North, Woods has been building his fanbase since 2021 with a steady stream of singles and EPs. His autobiographical lyrics often explore his experiences growing up as a young Māori boy. In 2024 he released collaborative single ‘Hoki Mai Rā’ with soul singer MOHI. The same year he produced single ‘Maiea’ for the Waiata Anthems music series. Woods collaborates frequently with producer, DJ and filmmaker Josh Crosland, AKA 'Shush'.
