DARTZ

DARTZ formed in Wellington in 2019 after jokingly applying to open for Australian punk band The Chats, only to be unexpectedly accepted. With two weeks to prepare, the group quickly wrote a set of original songs. After signing to Flying Nun in 2022 the four-piece released debut album The Band from Wellington, New Zealand, followed in 2024 by Dangerous Day To Be A Cold One, which hit number one on the NZ album charts and saw the band win Best Rock Artist at the 2025 Aotearoa Music Awards. With a sound rooted in punk and 'post-pub rock', DARTZ are known for high-energy shows and sharp-witted lyrics about New Zealand life.
