Deep Blue

Television, 1995

Setting sail across the South Pacific, Deep Blue follows a 10-month voyage through remote and wild oceans and islands. This 13-episode documentary series is presented by American filmmaker Mike deGruy, alongside filmmaker Peta Carey and musician Ole Maiava. Aboard the yacht Evohe, the team dive with a stunning variety of marine life, explore rugged landscapes, and uncover the cultures of the region. Produced by Natural History New Zealand for TVNZ, the series was accompanied by a book of the same name by director and cinematographer Wade Doak, detailing the expedition.
