Facelift

Television, 2004–2007

Facelift — which ran for four seasons — presents a different face than most sketch comedy shows. Gibson Group boss Dave Gibson recalled the popularity of the puppets featured in his earliest comedy series, Public Eye. But that show lacked real human eyes. Instead Facelift features actors in prosthetic makeup, imitating and satirising famous Kiwis. Listener cartoonist Trace Hodgson did the original character designs. Among the actors getting a whole new look are Cohen Holloway, Lorae Parry and playwright Alan Brunton.
