Art curator Justin Paton's guide How to Look at a Painting won a New Zealand Book Award in 2006. In this 12-part television series of the same name, Paton visits galleries and painters' studios on his "mission to show why painting matters". Two years in the making, the show debuted on TVNZ 7. Paton was praised for his enthusiastic, accessible approach.
