Keeling Over

Short Film (Full Length) – 1980

This fly on the boom documentary follows a three-day yacht race in the Hauraki Gulf in autumn 1980. The race involves two boats designed by Bruce Farr. Zamazaan is a 52 footer having her final friendly race under American skipper Warwick Tompkins, before being relocated to the States. Her opponent is Cotton Blossom, a new 54 foot yacht built for speed. On day one Cotton Blossom seems to have the upper hand, but as the weather changes and the winds pick up, victory becomes less certain. The narrator is Michael Haigh, best known for his role as Jim on 1980s office sitcom Gliding On.

You can lift again now, Tim. We're going quite well actually...
