Larry's Rebels

Formed in Auckland in 1964, Larry's Rebels quickly made waves with their blend of bluesy rock and psychedelic pop. Led by vocalist Larry Morris, the band enjoyed a string of hit singles in both New Zealand and Australia: seven top 20 songs in two years, including 'Mo’reen' and 'My Son John'. ‘Lets Think of Something’ — accompanied by one of New Zealand's earliest music videos — was awarded an APRA Silver Scroll Award in 1967. Larry Morris left in 1969 to pursue a solo career, and the group was renamed The Rebels, before they disbanded in the early 1970s. In 2020 Larry's Rebels were inducted into the NZ Music Hall of Fame.
